The blaze was first reported just before 4.30 on Sunday afternoon, sparking along Mates Gully Road.
While it is not yet know what ignited the fire, the NSW Rural Fire Service have stated it is currently at Advice Level, meaning those in the area should stay up to date with the progress but are in no immediate danger.
With the blaze marked along the road, drivers are urged to take caution in the area.
It is not yet confirmed how much land has been burnt.
