The Warriors' men have already kicked off pre-season training with Andy Heller returning for a second year as Pascoe Cup coach.
After going through last season's shortened season winless, South Wagga are confident they can build on the foundation laid in 2020.
"Absolutely. There was a lot of promising signs towards the end of last season," South Wagga president Stephen Burns said.
"We had some really inexperienced players in our team last year and it took them a while to come together and gel. We improved as the season went on and they have all stuck together and come back.
"We are affiliated with the Estella Phoenix and we blooded a few of those guys last year. They are all keen, they're that little bit older and a little bit more match-hardened which will be good."
The enthusiasm within in the squad is evident by the fact that the Warriors are already back into pre-season training.
Burns hopes they will welcome a couple of new faces to the squad this year.
"We haven't had any major exits and we're hoping for a couple of new faces if we can get them," he said.
"The senior men have already been having a kick, having a run and blowing the cobwebs out."
South Wagga are training every Wednesday and Sunday at Wagga Showgrounds. The club hopes to release registration packages in coming weeks.
Burns will also coach the women's squad this season, where the club hopes to return to the Leonard Cup after fielding a Madden Trophy team last year.
"We didn't have the experienced players needed to play Leonard Cup last year. We had a lot of young girls who weren't old enough...but hopefully we'll get a few more back now," Burns said.
"We're hoping to have a clean sweep of teams, four men and two ladies. Everyone is super keen to start training again and we're doing a few social things as well, it's good.
"We're building something really special."
Burns said any interested players were welcome to attend training, without any commitment.
