On January 20 the region entered its 134th day in a row with no new locally acquired COVID-19 cases detected as the 100,000th test was recorded.
The Murrumbidgee Local Health district has congratulated residents on reaching 100,034 tests conducted since the pandemic began in March 2020.
MLHD acting director of public health Alison Nikitas said she was "delighted" with the numbers and encouraged people to continue coming forward for testing.
"Detecting the virus early is a priority for the Murrumbidgee and will help us to detect an outbreak and stop the spread," Ms Nikitas said.
In other news:
"High testing rates enables us to quickly identify any community transmission quickly and arrange for people to receive the care needed.
"Isolating known cases prevents them from coming into contact with others and slows the rate of transmission."
MLHD testing clinics offer free and confidential testing and are based in Albury (Lavington), Cootamundra, Deniliquin, Griffith, Leeton and Wagga.
These clinics are available by appointment made by calling the COVID-19 Hotline on 1800 831 099 between 8am and 6pm.
Testing is also available through Commonwealth funded GP-led respiratory clinics in Griffith, Deniliquin, Gundagai, Tumut, Wagga and Young.
The MLHD is reminding anyone with even the mildest symptoms such as sore throat, cough, fever, shortness of breath to get tested.
