Cootamundra Highway Patrol detected the 23-year-old man allegedly speeding along the Hume Highway at Jugiong on Saturday afternoon.
Police say the man was caught travelling at 188km/h in a 110km/h zone, and once stopped, checks revealed the vehicle had been unregistered since October 22 last year.
He was issued with penalty notices of $2520 for exceeding the speed limit greater than 45km/h, and $697 for using an unregistered vehicle. The man's NSW drivers licence was also seized and suspended for six months.
