Just after 3.30 this afternoon, two Fire and Rescue NSW crews were called to Connorton Street.
Zone commander Stewart Alexander told The Daily Advertiser the fire was found to have originated inside the ceiling, likely above the house's laundry room.
"The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage," Mr Alexander said.
"There were no reports of injury."
Firefighters controlled the blaze quickly, leaving little damage to the facade of the home.
Mr Alexander expressed relief that the fire was caught when it was still small enough to control easily.
Police attended the scene shortly after to take stock of the situation and begin inquiries as to how the fire might have started.
