Zoo curator Kieralee Tori said the temporary closure will mitigate the safety risks posed by heavy foot traffic in the area.

She said this will reduce the stress for the deer, which get startled by large crowds and noises.
The two young males will be loaded from their enclosure and transported to their new home with a private owner in Victoria.
The zoo's gates will reopen to the public the next day at 9am.
The relocation comes shortly after the arrival of Wagga Zoo's newest star attraction Russell, the baby wombat, as well as, newborn fawns.
