In December, Forest Hill resident Renai Kneebone rescued the ginger cat when he was just six weeks old. She witnessed him being thrown from the window of a moving car along Inglewood Road.
His ordeal left him with a broken leg and gash to his face. While his facial injuries healed without issue, the leg required a little more attention.
Ms Kneebone was told she would be facing a $1600 bill for corrective surgery.

After a successful crowdfunding campaign, on Thursday afternoon, Viserion - also known as 'Vissy' - had his surgery to correct the displaced femur in his front right leg.
As of Monday, the GoFundMe page had raised $1,790. Ms Kneebone has said she will use the remainder of the funds to have Vissy desexed and anything that's leftover will be donated to Best Friends Pet Rescue.
Although expected to make a full recovery, Ms Kneebone believes he will always bear the legacy of his ordeal.
"He doesn't use that leg, but he's still very mobile on the other legs," she said.
"That leg will never be 100 per cent."
In other news:
On Friday afternoon, Vissy was discharged from Wagga Veterinary Hospital. He will spend the next couple of weeks reposing in Ms Kneebone's care before he finds a permanent home.
"A friend of mine has a cat who's 18 years old so she has a lot of experience looking after cats," Ms Kneebone said.
"She's said she's willing to take him on knowing the future health problems he might have. That way I can also keep seeing him."
Having almost doubled in size since his highway trauma, Ms Kneebone expects he will be able to get along fine in any new home.
"He's a very relaxed cat. Nothing phases him anymore," she said.
"[My friend's] other cat is also pretty chill, they'll get alone great."
