The weather is likely to produce heavy rainfall that could lead to flash flooding.
The peak weather body states that 25.6mm was recorded in 30 minutes about 12.30pm at Batlow.
The Wagga Airport gauge also recorded 10mm this afternoon.
The State Emergency Service advises in severe weather conditions that people should move their car under cover or away from trees and secure or put away loose items around their house, yard and balcony.
The SES also encourages residents to keep at least 8 metres away from fallen power lines or objects that may be energised, such as fences.
For emergency help in floods and storms, ring the SES (NSW and ACT) on 132 500.
