On December 21, a passenger flying from Sydney to Griffith had subsequently returned a positive test result for the virus three days later in Sydney.
A public health alert was issued while NSW Health's contact tracing team worked with the airline to identify and contact the passengers and crew. Four other close contacts of the person were also identified.

Although all close contacts returned negative results, they remained in self-isolation for 14-days after their exposure. But, they have now been released from isolation with no new cases recorded.
MLHD public health director Tracey Oakman said they cooperated fully with the testing and isolation requirements that were asked of them.
"We acknowledge the tremendous impact that this has had on contacts and their families over the Christmas period," she said.
"I would also like to thank the community for supporting their fellow residents through this time."
The Griffith testing clinic moved from the hospital to Yambil Street before Christmas in order to provide a more central and accessible option.
Since its move, the clinic has seen consistently higher numbers of people seeking testing.
