Forest Hill Progress Association president Kevin Kerr said the road is riddled with potholes, rough edges and narrow lanes that pose a serious risk for drivers travelling between Forest Hill and Lake Albert.
He said Wagga City Council must seriously consider how the infrastructure could be improved as the suburb continues to grow and more residents use the route to access the airport.
"I am surprised after making the list of top five worst roads in Wagga that not much has been done towards repairing it," he said.
"It is a very rough, open road with high speeds.
"Most of the way up you hit bumps, which could easily move the wheels of a car sideways. It is enough to create a serious danger for traffic."
When the Sturt Highway is blocked, Mr Kerr said trucks often detoured through the back road network.
"The concern should be whether that road was made to withstand those heavy vehicles," he said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Wagga City Council's operations director Warren Faulkner said the council is monitoring the road, particularly in light of the subdivision development occurring at Forest Hill.
He said they will also undertake an independent road safety audit to assist in identifying safety risks associated with the road.
"The council is aware of the localised pavement defects along Inglewood Road, in particular near the intersection of Bakers Lane and about halfway between Bakers Lane and Elizabeth Avenue, which require heavy patching to repair the pavement and renew the wearing course," he said.
"These repairs are scheduled in the council's heavy patching program for this financial year."
