The one-year-old bitch ($1.75 favourite) started brilliantly from box six in the 400m feature to work up alongside main rival Balt (box one) around the corner, before powering away from the second elect for a four-length win in 22.78 seconds.

Paua of Janie has won all five of her career starts, all of which have been at Wagga, giving Jones a welcome dilemma as to what's in store for her next after her latest win in front of a bumper New Year's Day crowd.

"I've got a couple of mates that are interested in taking her. They're fighting for her: 'you said you'd give it to me' and 'he said I was getting it'," he laughed.

"I haven't promised anyone anything, because I knew this would happen.

"That's if I don't sell her. I've got a couple of blokes in Sydney interested in buying her for, like, five figure sums. I've got to work out if she's going to make it to the races I want for her to be a good brood-bitch, or sell her.

"It's not about the money, it's just how much they're offering makes me me think about it."

Jones said Paua of Janie overcame what looked a tricky box on paper with a strong start.

She was in a bit of a tricky box and I thought the dog on the inside of her, it does jump and goes to the fence so it give me a little bit of room.

"My next line of sight was the red (Balt, in box one) cause it was the dog I had to beat. I hoped to be beside him at the 300 and then got past him, and that's exactly what she did.

"Dog racing is 80 per cent luck and the rest is what you know."

The $4150 Leo Hartley Memorial Final (525m) was taken out by the Raymond Sims-trained Soustaille after after a determined finish from the $2.30 ensured it edged out Matthew Wallace's Dit Dat by three-quarters-of-a-length in a time of 30.94.

Dit Dat enjoyed a two-length break coming around the turn, but Soustaille dug deep to claim a 15^th win in 44 career starts.
