Former Albury forward Luke Ingram has signed on with the club for 2021.
Ingram made a big impact with Albury last season with his strong work rate through the middle before returning home to Bombala.
He was set to play for his junior club this year before COVID struck and the Group 16 competition didn't go ahead.
Instead the 23-year-old played in the four-team Canberra Raiders Cup competition with Woden.
Work options were a sticking point on the border however he's looking forward to the challenge of Group Nine once again after linking with the Wagga club.
"The comp is definitely a lot stronger and it is better for my footy," Ingram said.
"Since I left (Albury) they have been trying to get me there and I thought I would go and try to better my footy even more."
Kangaroos president Peter Hurst is thrilled to have Ingram on board.
Especially with his big frame to add some much needed size to the Wagga club's forward pack.
"I think he is a really good get," Hurst said.
"I've been a fan of his for a little while, watched him when he was at Albury and did talk to him last year when he went back to Bombala."
Kangaroos did not have a big forward pack and Hurst is confident the 23-year-old will help boost their size.
"He'll bring size, which means a lot to us, and give us lots of go forward," he said.
"That will help give our backs better opportunities.
"He's also got that controlled aggression and is a quality bloke to bring good culture to the club as well."
Ingram will be joined by former Bombala teammate Tyler Jones.
Jones will add depth to the Kangaroos playmaking ranks as an option at hooker or halfback.
Kangaroos are yet to formally announce a replacement for Hayden Ashcroft as coach, but a former NRL player is in line to take over the role.
They are the only club yet to confirm their coaching arrangement but only Young, Southcity and Albury have the same set up as this year.
