Police say the 30-year-old Glenfield Park man was driving a "dangerously defective" truck when they found him after receiving reports he was back behind the wheel on Thursday.
He has already been disqualified from driving until 2061.
"Officers obtained CCTV footage of the man driving around the Kooringal area," police said.
"Officers found the man shortly after."
An inspection of the vehicle found it to be defective, police said, and the man was taken to Wagga police station for further drug testing after allegedly failing a roadside test.
