The keen teens are looking to bring on new volunteers to resurrect the PCYC Wagga Youth Committee, which has been on hiatus due to the coronavirus.
One such member is Year 11 Riverina Anglican College student Inigo Bardos, who said he joined the group in order to champion the causes that matter to young people.
"We aim to empower young individuals with necessary skills they will need for life, while also targeting negative social aspects that are detrimental to young people," Mr Bardos said.
"It's that sense of giving back to the community, which is so empowering and so helpful."
Kashyap Aghara, who recently finished his HSC exams at Kooringal High School, said he wanted to give a voice to the young, multicultural community.
As somebody from a Hindi background he has experienced discrimination first-hand, and he said he wanted to help others from ethnic backgrounds to feel welcome and included.
"Australia is such a wonderful country, and as more people migrate to the country I want to get them engaged and bring out their own colours and culture among the youth community," Mr Aghara said.
The committee is currently scouting new members aged between 15 and 18, with applications available on the PCYC Wagga Facebook page until December 23.
Once the team is assembled they plan to hold meetings in February, where the members will come up with their own ideas for events and causes they want to champion.
In other news:
The members will take part in monthly activities and workshops where they will develop their skills and plan youth events for the PCYC and the wider community.
