Haydn Cowled and Simon Wilson were officially installed as Diesels co-coaches for 2021 last week and the club has attracted a former Ag College enforcer.
Luke Turner will switch codes after being part of the university club's run to the Southern Inland grand final last year.
The Diesels had been considering their involvement in the first grade competition next year, but new president David Holt is pleased with the steps they are taking.
"We are on track," Holt said.
"We are looking very good, chasing a few more players up and it looks like we will recruit well for reserve grade and we've had an added bonus with a few out of towners coming for work.
"We will just keep working with what we have got but we are looking very good."
It is a change of tact after admitting the club was struggling at the Group Nine annual general meeting late last month.
The Diesels announced coaches for four grades, with no Sullivan Cup side to be fielded in 2021, after a meeting on Wednesday night to lock in the roles.
Holt believes the signing of Turner is a start after a number of their recruits who linked with the club just before the 2020 season started returned to their clubs.
"We haven't signed anyone after Luke but we are definitely talking to players," he said.
"Once you have got coaches you have some stability and something to work with."
Junee had been looking to bring in a new coach, but Holt is confident the combination of Cowled, who was set to co-coach Cootamundra this year before linking with the Diesels, and junior product Wilson is a good mix.
"They've already done some good recruiting, and they are keen, eager and young," he said.
While Cootamundra have not applied to return to Group Nine after sitting out this season due to coronavirus concerns, Temora and Albury will return to the field in 2021.
With a 16-game season locked in, Holt is expecting there to be good competition between the clubs.
"It will be a good competition next year and I'm looking forward to it," he said.
