A TRUCK driver has been caught allegedly under the influence of drugs behind the wheel while speeding along the Hume Highway.

Gundagai Highway Patrol officers detected a 44-year-old driving a Kenworth B-double vehicle along the Hume Highway at Mundarlo on Sunday night, travelling at 126km/h in a 100km/h zone.
The driver was stopped by police and tested positive for methamphetamines to a roadside test. He was arrested and taken to Tumut Police Station for secondary testing.
A further positive drug test was returned, leading to the man being issued with issued with a 24 hour prohibition from driving notice.

He was also issued with traffic infringements for Class C vehicle exceed speed over 20km/h, and 2 x work diary offences.
Laboratory results are pending before a Court attendance notice is issued for drive with illicit drug in oral fluid.
