NSW Rural Fire Services Inspector Ben Shepherd said it will be important for farmers to have fire breaks around infrastructure on their properties from sheds and fences to crops and livestock.
Moving into the later part of summer, Mr Shepherd said firefighters are expecting to see grass lands completely dried out and posing an increase threat to nearby properties.

"If they can put in fire breaks on fence lines, it will assist in pulling some of these fires up," he said.
His call follows a harvest fire last Friday, which required 30 trucks and two water bombers to contain.
Mr Shepherd said the fire breaks are going to be a "very important tactical tool" for both firefighters and landholders to contain any blaze.
"Put those breaks in, and in fact, double the width to give a better break for firefighters to use to pull up grass and crop fires," he said.
