Murrumbidgee Police District officers were called to Sams Place at 2.30am on Friday, September 11 this year following reports of a concern for a man's welfare.
Officers found an unconscious 25-year-old man in a car, who was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Following a forensic investigation, Strike Force Brobenah was formed to investigate the death.
On Wednesday November 25, officers travelled to Lithgow Correctional Centre to arrest a 21-year-old man.
He was charged with murder and assault with intent to rob in company resulting in wounding.
Officers allege the 21-year-old lured the 25-year-old man in order to steal his car, and the older man was hit several times with a pole before being stabbed fatally in the chest.
The man was refused bail and will appear at Bathurst Local Court via audio-visual link.
Police say their investigation is continuing.
