The 19-year-old is expected to remain at the top of the order for Sydney Thunder's semi final clash with defending champions Brisbane Heat on Thursday after alternating between opening and the middle order throughout the campaign.

She will enter the match full of confidence after striking 38 off 40 balls to help Thunder run down Adelaide's 6-133 on Saturday, before backing up with 16 in Sunday's six-wicket win over Hobart.

Trenaman said the chance to bat alongside England internationals and fellow top order players Heather Knight and Tammy Beaumont has helped her work on her innings craft.

"It was a bit of a shift (back to middle order) during the tournament, but it probably gave me a chance to find my tempo a bit in T20 cricket," she said.

"I haven't really played a lot of it so you can play a bit more freely down there. Once I put together a couple of good performance, it was about trying to replicate that rhythm at the top of the order.

"It's learning to knock the ball around a little bit more, and not be fully in boundary mode.

"It's good having some in the middle with you like Heather Knight that it doesn't always have to be a four, it can be just a single in certain situations.

"In the heat of the moment your mind can go for the money shot, but having players like that out in the middle is really important for a young group.

Trenaman said she's looking forward to helping set the tone early in finals.

"You can take first pill, really give it a red hot crack and hopefully get your team off to a flying start," she said.

"It's an exciting prospect. To be able to do that at North Sydney Oval in front of a decent crowd under lights, I'm sure I'll remember it for a long time."

"After missing out last year we were really focused on making finals, and it was nice to do it by winning two games and not relying on other results."
