Raines played 129 AFL games across time at Richmond, Brisbane Lions and Gold Coast and has now moved into coaching, where he is in charge of the under 18 Allies team, among others.
Raines, through his One on One Football business, will hold a 10-session summer coaching program for junior footballers.
Raines has employed newly appointed Turvey Park senior coach Mick Mazzocchi and Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong reserve grade coach Mitch Fennessy to lead the program. Both have been involved in coaching at the Giants Academy.
"The summer program we're about to launch is groups of no bigger than 25 and four to five coaches in each session," Raines explained.
"We're going to focus on skill acquisition, so all the fundamentals in football and they will rotate through each station for 80 minutes in the session and then there's going to be a strength and conditioning element as well.
"It's a great opportunity for kids to get involved, train with a group but also have that intimate connection with a coach and then obviously learn some skills over summer and keep improving your game, which is really important."
The program kicks off at Lake Albert Oval on November 25. Players wishing to register should visit the One on One Football website.
