Mr and Mrs Wilson conducted their first on-property sale at Yarragundry via Wagga and auctioneers Michael Glasser of GTSM and James Brown, Ray White, Albury kept the momentum running at a high level for the entire duration.
In all 171 rams sold in a 100 per cent clearance to top at $3800 and average $1576.
A highlight of the auction was the offering of younger ram lambs.
The young rams attracted support from buyers, who attended the on-property sale and also bids also came in from AuctionsPlus.
Buyers were keen to take advantage of the exceptional genetic offering.
Buyer Tony Flanery of "Lowlynn," Harden secured 12 rams including the top-priced ram lamb, which was the second last lot of the day to sell, for a high of $3800.
Mr Flanery said he was seeking rams with excellent figures that would put fast-growing lambs on the ground in his commercial operation.
He was confident in buying the younger rams and said they were certainly ready to work.
When assessing the catalogue Mr Flanery was looking for rams with good growth rate and low birth weights.
Meanwhile, Mr Wilson, who is known for his work particularly in the Merino industry where he has been involved in several production trials, spoke of his confidence in the Poll Dorset operation.
He also thanked the buyers who supported the auction and he acknowledged Kentish Downs was formerly located at Holbrook and run by Rob and Jody Martin.
Volume purchaser Charles Knight of Lorne Pastoral Company secured 21 rams for an average of $1252.
Richard Bell, Paling Yards Trading bought 16 rams to average $1668.
Tom McGuiness of McGuiness Farm secured 15 rams for an average of $1540. David Davidson of Yarran Ag secured 12 rams for $1483 and Bluechip Livestock bought two rams for an average of $1800.
