Ossie Sutton has been the licensee of the Palm and Pawn Hotel sine February 2019 and sees now as the perfect time to use the platform for a good cause.
He is taking on the Great Cycle Challenge which sees people of all ages, abilities and from every state set themselves a personal riding goal throughout October to raise money for the fight against children's cancer.
However, this is not Mr Sutton's only goal. He wants to see people come together during this challenging period as the city continues to grapple with the ramifications of the coronavirus pandemic.
"I have done the ride for a few years now, and I want to use this avenue of running the pub to get people involved," he said.
"Since COVID-19, I have noticed a lot of bike riders around town, and this is a good way to get out, exercise and help your mental health as well.
"Hopefully, we can also raise some money for a good cause."

Passionate about cycling, Mr Sutton added it is the perfect socially-distanced activity to take part in.
He said cancer affects everyone, and for children who are diagnosed the road ahead is long and gruelling.
"I want to get people involved," Mr Sutton said.
"Kidsons Cycles have donated a bicycle for us to give away. During the month of October, we are going to do different promos which enters you in to win the bike. One is a kilo parmi challenge."
