The Winter Bites Festival will aim to promote tourism and visitation to the region's towns most impacted by the summer bushfires.
Thanks to $390,000 in funding through the Regional Tourism Bushfire Recovery Grant Program, Batlow, Tumbarumba and Adelong will play host to the trio of food festivals over the winter of 2021.
Executive Director Community and Corporate Paul Holton said the grant would lend support to fire-affected regions through an economic boost, and encourage regional tourism and visitation.
"Development of tourism opportunities across the winter months has been identified as a priority action in Council's Destination Management Plan and the recent loss of iconic winter attractions due to the bushfires, including Selwyn Snowfields and the Sugar Pine Walk, have exacerbated the need to explore new opportunities for encouraging visitation to the region during winter," he said.
"The grant application process was highly competitive so we are particularly pleased to have been successful in being awarded the full amount we applied for."

The 2021 events will include food and music to celebrate the uniqueness of the region and the beauty of the Snowy Valleys during the cooler months, with a particular focus on local produce and beverages, plus opportunities for local businesses to get involved.
Mr Holton said Council's Place Activation team would be reaching out to local businesses in the coming months to discuss complementary offers that can be promoted alongside the major events.
The Winter Bites Festival will take place on the following dates:
- June 5, 2021 - Tumbarumba
- July 17, 2021 - Adelong
- August 28, 2021 - Batlow
