A man has faced court after allegedly attempting to cross into New South Wales from Victoria without a permit three times in a 24 hour period.

About 7am on Friday, September 11, police stopped a silver Ford Laser at a checkpoint on the Hume Highway, Albury, as it attempted to enter NSW.
Officers spoke to the driver, a 37-year-old man, who allegedly failed to produce a permit.
He was issued a direction under the Public Health Act to return to Victoria and was escorted back over the border.
However, later that day, the man allegedly drove to a border checkpoint on Wodonga Place, Albury, and once again attempted to enter NSW.
The 37-year-old was allegedly unable to supply a permit and was issued with a Penalty Infringement Notice for $1000.

About 10am on Saturday, September 12, the Ford Laser driver was stopped at a checkpoint on the Hume Highway, Albury, where he was allegedly unable to produce a permit for a third time in a 24 hour period.
Police then arrested the man as a result.
He was taken to Albury Police Station and charged with not comply with noticed direction.
The man was initially refused bail and was scheduled to appear before Wagga Local Court on Sunday, September 14, for mention.
Police continue to appeal to the community to report suspected breaches of any ministerial direction or behaviour which may impact on the health and safety of the community.
