Hotels from across the Wagga sub-branch of the Australian Hotels Association held the third annual 'Hotels Have Hearts' fundraising dinner in November last year, and have spread the funds raised across seven Riverina charities.
David Barnhill from the Wagga and District Liquor Accord said the committee aimed to spread donations around from year to year, and this year there was an emphasis on supporting groups assisting with bushfire recovery efforts.
BlazeAid Adelong and the Batlow Country Women's Association were among those to receive donations, along with Carevan, U3A Wagga, The Leisure Company and Sisters Housing Enterprises.

Funds also went to an annual Riverina TAFE scholarship for a commercial cookery apprentice.
Mr Barnhill said while the sub-branch would take a year off from holding the fundraising event in 2020, they would still continue to contribute to the community.
"We still plan on making community donations going forward, because we're community based organisations, so you've got to support the people that support you," he said.
