Today, that practice has offices all over the Riverina, and has recently welcomed the fifth generation of Frederick's family to practice law with the firm.

Thomas Commins, 23, works at the Commons Hendricks Solicitors Canberra office and was admitted to the ACT Supreme Court last month.

He is Frederick's great-great grandson, and continues an unbroken line of lawyers in the family.

Thomas's father Michael moved his son's admittance to the court in a ceremony in August in front of Thomas's grandfather Fred, family and friends.

Thomas, who grew up in Junee, said he had been working towards the achievement since graduating school in 2014, spending his university holidays working in the Junee and Wagga offices at the firm.

He said his family history had been a strong contributor to his choice to become a lawyer.

"I saw the history, and tradition means a lot to me and I thought I'd like to carry on that tradition," he said.

He said he was proud of the Riverina roots of the family firm.

"Something about helping regional communities means a lot to me, living (in Junee) and seeing the opportunities offered there, I saw that and was inspired."

Thomas's father Michael said it was a "proud dad moment" to be the one to move his son's admission to the court.

"Tradition is a wonderful thing ... it is the foundation upon which families form and grow and being able to look back on our own family's contribution to this profession over many, many years instils a sense of pride in what we have achieved," he said.
