Leeton's feature race has been run in late January for the past four seasons following a forced shift from the traditional Boxing Day heats and New Year's Day final.
Last week it was confirmed the racing season will change to follow the calendar year.
The breeding season is unaffected so any foals bred this season will not officially turn one until January 1, 2022.
Leeton secretary Joanne Punch confirmed they have been in contact with Harness Racing NSW over available dates.
"We've got a couple of ideas on how to do things but we just want to put it through the committee and make sure everyone is on the same wavelength," Punch said.

ROCKITA extended her purple patch of form since joining Craig Cross to qualify for a group three final.
The mare made it three wins and a second from four starts with success at Menangle on Saturday night.
Owner Bayley Duck is thrilled with her efforts.
"She is going real good up there," Duck said.
"She is loving it up there with that long straight at Menangle.
She set a new career best mile rate of 1:51.4 in the process.
"It means a lot as a broodmare as I'll keep her and breed from her later on," Duck said.
Rockita has drawn six in the final on Saturday night.
The Leeton-owned Lets Katchmeifucan has drawn nine after finishing a head away from Wolf Stride in the fastest of the heats.

GEORGIE Martin has been transferred to Jason Grimson.
The mare won nine of her 21 starts for David Kennedy, including one at Menangle, but remained in Sydney on Saturday night after a last placed finish.
Kennedy also didn't have any luck with his other runner Highland Major also running last.

ALBURY failed to get enough nominations for the planned return of harness racing on the border.
The club was set to race on Tuesday but the meeting was abandoned due to the very low nominations.
It was designated to be the first of an expanded list of clubs to race for the first time with only Wagga, Young and Leeton hosting meetings since March due to COVID policies.

WEST Wyalong will hold the first meeting on the new Carnival Of Cups circuit.
The club had its cup meeting run at Riverina Paceway in April due to coronavirus restrictions.
However this season's feature race, worth $17,850, will be run on October 18 alongside an up to 55 ratings final worth $14,280.
Heats will be run at the club's other meeting on October 11.

Wagga will hold an nine-race card on Friday.
The first race is at 1.38pm.
Young then races on Tuesday with heats of the NSW Breeders Challenge series for the three-year-olds the feature.
