Yoogali maintained their undefeated record with an impressive 3-1 win over the Wanderers in the Riverina derby at EW Moore Oval in Griffith.
The home team proved a little too slick for the Wanderers, with Danny Roche, Mitch Bagiante and Calvin Roddie all scoring for Yoogali before Isaac Brooker converted a penalty for the visitors late.
The loss, the second in a row for Wagga City, leaves the Wanderers in fourth position on the NPL Two ladder heading into the final round of the competition.
The Wanderers are equal with the fifth-placed O'Connor Knights but are narrowly head on goals difference, but importantly have a game in hand.
Wagga City will play the winless Narrabundah in Canberra on Saturday, with the catch-up game against third-placed Canberra White Eagles expected to be rescheduled for Sunday.
Wanderers coach Michael Babic is disappointed his team have left it up until the final weekend to decide their finals fate.
"Now destiny's out of our hands," Babic said.
"If we get six points we're fine, if we get four we'll be fine, if we get three then we're relying on other results.
"It's going to be an interesting weekend next weekend. There's a lot to be sorted out."
Babic conceded Yoogali were too good for his men on Sunday.
"They were too sharp for us up front. We didn't cope with their speed and their quick play," he said.
"At the end of the day they were too quick and sharp and we didn't cope with it."
Wanderers goal keeper Robert Fry managed some brilliant saves to keep his team in the contest, while fellow co-captain Carl Pideski and Isaac Brooker also enjoyed good games.
Babic said the Wanderers are now aware of the benchmark heading into a potential maiden finals campaign.
"They're the benchmark," he said.
"They played NPL One last year, they've got some quality imports and they're a very good side, that's why they're undefeated.
"We weren't too far away today but there is a little gap between us and them at the moment."
