It comes after a treatment plant process failure caused elevated turbidity to be detected in the water network.
Consuming unboiled water may lead to illness, particularly in the very young, elderly or immunocompromised.
Boiled water should be used for drinking, teeth brushing, washing of food, preparing baby formula, making ice, bathing infants.
Always bring drinking water to the boil and then allow the water to cool before using or storing it in a clean, closed container for later use.

The precautionary warning will stay in effect until council workers in conjunction with NSW Health are confident there is no further risk to the public.
Additional testing of the water is now being undertaken in the hopes of rectifying the problem soon.
