A week after scoring their first ever win over Brothers, the Cherrypickers continued their unbeaten start by becoming the first team to get the better of Kangaroos this season.
The Wagga side went into half-time leading 8-6 after Jessica Beer crossed for her second try with the last play of the stanza but from there Young dominated possession.
Coach Garry Lucas was pleased to pick up another important result, but doesn't want the inexperienced side to look too far ahead.
"To let that try in before half-time was a bit disappointing but they came back out in the second half, made up for it and held them out," Lucas said. "It was really good but we've got to try and keep a level head on them at the moment as they've never been in this position before and I don't want them going into finals thinking they are unbeatable.
"We've got to keep our heads down and keep doing the hard work."
Meanwhile the race for fourth spot opened up as Gundagai downed Southcity for their first win of the season.
The 28-10 result will be a big boost for the Tigers who face winless Junee and fifth placed Tumut in their last two games.
The Blues are behind the Bulls and out of the top four on percentage after a 18-4 win over the Diesels but they face Brothers on Saturday while Southcity travels to Young before the bye.
