The Blues are yet to taste defeat, after a draw with Gundagai to start the season, but face their two biggest tests after the 20-4 victory.
With games against two three rivals Brothers and Gundagai to come, co-coach Dean Bristow is pleased with how the side responded after conceding the first try of the game.
Group 20 recruit Troy Preston charged over after 19 minutes but Bristow thought it was the kick the side needed coming off the bye.
"It was probably a little bit of a wake up call we needed," Bristow said.
"We did dominate possession early but couldn't capitalise and they found a bit of fortune off a mid-field bomb and scored.
"It clicked us into gear a little bit, and we were running into a pretty strong breeze in the first half where we couldn't dominate possession. We dominated it for probably 10 minutes after half-time, scored some points before the game got a bit stale as the weather did."
Brayden Draber crossed for a double as he adapts to a new role at five-eighth with tries on either side of half-time
Tumut did pick up another injury concern with Parish Bellette hurting his shoulder however they hope co-coach Lachlan Bristow will be back to host Brothers, who are coming off the bye, at Twickenham on Saturday.
