Scott Chambers stumbled into the role of presenter with Triple AAA FM in the year 2000 and hasn't looked back since.
"I was meaning to go to one of the open days they had to see what the station is like, by I got the wrong day and ended up getting my own private tour," he said.
"The lady who showed me around asked straight away if I'd like to be a presenter and I thought, never in a million years could I do that, but then I thought I'd give it a go and I've been there ever since."
During his day job, you'll find Mr Chambers in the operating theatre at Wagga Base, helping prepare the room for surgeries.
"It's nice to have that balance between working in health and then getting to go to the station for three hours on a Wednesday afternoon," he said.
"It gives me an avenue of freedom in today's hectic world, so for three hours I can forget about my worries and just enjoy myself."
Mr Chambers said the station has seen many changes over the decades, with 2020 marking a year to remember.
In other news:
"It's a lot more high-tech now, no more records or anything like that," he said.
"This year we've had the bushfires and COVID-19, and floods in the past, and we've all adapted to that, and learned our key role in getting the message out during emergencies."
The team he works alongside with was a big reason for his longevity at Triple AAA FM, according to Mr Chambers.
"The people there are so amazing, the station manager is great and really progressive, and the really special thing about the station is the unique, dedicated, loyal listeners - it's a very special part of Wagga," he said.
"I hope I get another 20 years yet, you really don't ever get sick of it."
