After giving up four goals in the final ten minutes to lose by a point to the Tigers last week, the Lions looked like they were carrying a hangover after the Ostriches kicked the only two goals of the first quarter.
But GGGM managed to contained Osborne's running game which hurt them early to set up the win with a dominant four-goals-to-one second term in wet conditions.
The Ostriches only managed two goals after quarter time to sink to a second straight loss, and slip to fifth on the table with a 1-2 record.
GGGM are 2-1 and travel to Leeton-Whitton (2-1) next week. Mangoplah-Cookardinia United-Eastlakes host Wagga Tigers in the battle of the other 2-1 sides, setting the scene for a crucial fourth round.
"We had a slow start, we were poor early. We addressed a few things at quarter time and then played the way we wanted to for the rest of the game," Lions coach Christin Macri said.
"We stopped their run, they had some really good run in the first quarter.
"It was a strong four goal win and we would have taken that at the start of the day, we're really happy."
Macri said he was satisfied with the return of gun ruckman Sam Olsson, who missed the first two rounds of the season due to coronavirus concerns and family reasons.
He played half the game up forward after Riley Corbett suffered a likely season-ending ankle injury against the Tigers, allowing Dan Foley to continue his role in the ruck.
"He took a while to find his feet having missed the first two games but it's great to have him back in, especially losing Riley Corbett," Macri said.
"It was a bit wet and slippery today but he still gave us something around the middle of the ground and a target up forward. It's just great to see him back there with us.
"He played about half and half (ruck and forward) with Dan Foley, and it's probably something we'll keep going with."
Macri said Sam Martyn was heavily influential around the ball, while Tom Anderson finished with three goals.
"He (Martyn) was our best player, he gave us plenty of drive," he said.
"Ben Walsh, Matt Neagle and Tom Anderson and Tom Quinn were good down back and we had a lot of contributors today, it was really pleasing."
