After only trailing by five points at half-time, Waratahs couldn't stick with their nearest rivals as they conceded 34 straight points to go down 47-13.

Captain James Whiteley is looking for improvement against CSU.

"We haven't fielded the same team for three games in a row but I actually don't think it is a bad thing for where we are," Whiteley said.

"We've got a heap of new combinations and the more game time we can get under the belts I think we will be better for it.

"The thing against us is it is a short season so we don't have time to take the time to gel through a heap of game time. We have to do it in a shorter period."

While co-coaches Angus Stevenson and Michael Davis have reshuffled the deck after the loss, three fresh faces come into the side to tackle the Reddies at Beres Ellwood Oval on Saturday.

Whiteley is one of the changes after suffering a head knock in the loss last week.

Tom Green is also out after injuring his hamstring in the first half of the loss.

Green's absence has caused a back line reshuffle with Sam Carwardine moving to his place at inside centre, James Grimmett coming into outside centre while Jacob Makeham comes into the side on the wing.

Fullback George Mallatt is also trading places with Tom Hobbs and will start in the number 10 jersey as the club looks for better direction.

Joe Mullany and Rob Wiltshire return to the forward pack with Kurt Holzl moving to hooker meaning Sam Palmer and Richie Lamont are the two flankers with Nathanael Mooney playing at number eight.

Waratahs have only scored two tries in each of the first two games of the season.

Whiteley hopes the positional changes can help their attack find a better structure against an improving CSU outfit.

"We're doing a few different things this week and with George Mallat at first receiver it will give us a new direction and hopefully we can be a bit more direct in attack." he said.
