Picker was among the side's best in their round one win over Junee, before coming off after five minutes in their loss to Gundagai on Sunday.
Cherrypickers coach Nick Hall doesn't expect he'll line up for another big challenge against Tumut this week but the full extent of the injury is yet to be known.
"I think he is at long odds to be playing next week and he's gone off to see a doctor so we will find out," Hall said.
"The way the injury happened it didn't look good and whenever someone swings around into someone it isn't good."
Hall has the luxury of having James Woolford on the bench and was impressed by how the former captain-coach stepped into the role but after a strong debut by Picker, including two crucial first half tries, it was a big adjustment for the new-look side.
After overcoming an 18-4 deficit to score a 10-point win over Junee to start the season, Young once again found themselves behind against Gundagai at Alfred Oval on Sunday.
Trailing 14-0 at half-time, the 'Pickers closed within four points midway through the second half but couldn't close out another comeback win.
A couple of late tries saw the scoreline blow out to 32-14 and Hall believes it will be a valuable lesson for the side.
"I think it was a good lesson in playing set-for-set, patient footy," he said.
"Gundagai played a very simple game plan and they know that that is good enough.
"They didn't really challenge too much but they won all the rucks in attack and defence.
"You could question a way a few of the calls went but as a whole Gundagai won more rucks than us."

After struggling to cope with a heavy penalty count in the first half, Young had plenty of ball early in the second stanza.
Jayke Hogan and Thomas Jenkins both crossed to get the side back to 14-10 but Hall is looking to make more of their opportunities up against the unbeaten premiers at Twickenham on Sunday.
"There where periods were we had all the momentum and good ball and we have to turn that into points," Hall said. "We need to be a little bit better."
Hall is looking for the side to strike the right balance in attack against the Blues.
"We're finding our style of footy," he said.
"Learning to be patient is one thing but we also need to be good enough to play some footy.
"There were times where we needed to get connected but we didn't."
