Police have cordoned off both entrance points to Jack Avenue while Essential Energy works to restore power the residential units along the street.
Sergeant Barry Roberts attended the scene and told The Daily Advertiser the male driver hit the telegraph pole at around 7.15pm on Thursday.
"The pole then snapped at ground level knocking out power," Sergeant Roberts said.
"It will take Essential Energy four to five hours to replace the pole and restore the power."
Paramedics attended the scene, but a spokesperson for NSW Ambulance confirmed the driver was not transported to hospital and did not sustain any injuries.
He did, however, return a positive breath test.
"He's been taken to Wagga Police Station now for processing," Sergeant Roberts said.
