There is only one thing more satisfying than seeing someone walking through the doors of the Civic Theatre for the first time, and that is welcoming an old friend back.

There is a buzz of renewed energy as the team work towards real, live events coming back to the stage.
This week, we announced the reopening of the theatre and launched Re-Ignite, a program of live performances supporting and celebrating local artists.
There is a buzz of renewed energy as the team work towards real, live events coming back to the stage. We are so excited to be able to welcome back our friends and meet some new ones (with appropriate physical distancing of course), when the doors swing open on August 8.
We were fortunate to have a group of performers in the theatre earlier this week to launch the program and it felt good! Real performers. Stage lights. Laughter. And the energy we have been missing returned to the space. Re-Ignite is going to be fun, fabulous and long-awaited.
In a time of so much uncertainty, you can be certain that tickets will sell quickly. Wagga has been calling out for the return of live performance and with a reduced capacity and a fabulous line-up including award-winning Australian country music artist Fanny Lumsden, the Riverina Comedy Club, the Australian Army Rock Band (Kapooka) and a cabaret festival in the planning for September, demand will be high.
We have opened the theatre doors and raised the curtain thousands of times before; but when the curtain is raised on August 8 after months of darkness, the anticipation will be greater than ever. I'm planning to be there... amongst my friends (old and new).
