WAGGA Tigers have resisted the temptation to bolster their netball team with gun players from clubs who have opted not to play this year as they look to reclaim the title they relinquished last year.

After three straight Riverina League flags the Tigers were eliminated in last year's preliminary final by Collingullie Glenfield Park, but are expected to be one of the teams to beat in the six-team, six-round competition this season.
Tigers coach Olivia Tilyard said they had fielded requests from players of other clubs not participating looking to come aboard, but have stuck solid with their original squad.
"We're going with what we have," she said.
"I've had messages from people, but who are we kicking out for them? It's only six rounds, there's no point kicking out the girls who have played through our juniors and things like that."
The Tigers have picked up Rhiannon Podmore and Abbey Corbott from Turvey Park this season, but will otherwise field a similar squad to last season.
Tilyard believes last year's Riverina League champions Mangoplah-Cookardinia United-Eastlakes will again be the team to beat this year.
"We've got to come out and play our best netball for all four quarters and all six rounds. There's no real second chances really, we can't afford a slow start," she said.
"It is (a relief we're playing) actually. It's been such a big build up, and at least we get something.
"I was pretty confident the club was going to push ahead, they always wanted to play."
She got her wish, with everyone to play each other once before the teams who clash in round one meet in the sixth and last round, before three weeks of finals.
The Tigers will get their campaign underway against Osborne at Robertson Oval on Saturday, while MCUE hosts Leeton and Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong travels to Turvey Park.
