Howard was again among the Saints' best when they overcame their Adelaide Oval hoodoo with a 23-point win over the Crows on Monday night.
Howard kicked one of the goals of the night on the run from outside 50 and had the better of an entertaining duel with former Adelaide captain Taylor Walker.
But he needed no reminding of who was next for St Kilda as he prepares to take on the Power at Adelaide Oval on Saturday night.
"It's going to be interesting," Howard told Fox Footy after Monday night's game.
"They're going pretty well so I look forward to it.
"I've got some good mates that I'll be going up against and no doubt there will be a bit of chirp going around all week and probably in the game so we'll see how it goes."
Howard said the Saints were excited by their win over Adelaide, which moved them into sixth place on the AFL ladder after seven rounds.
"Everyone was pretty pumped," he said.
"We were really up and about in there before, we'll probably have a quick meeting in a sec before we get back to the hotel. It's been a pretty long day but ones like these where you have a long day and travel, if you get a win then it's a great result so we're very happy going back to Queensland (on Tuesday)."
The Saints are based in Noosa, as part of the AFL's hub plan to overcome COVID-19 restrictions and get through a season.
The commentators claimed Howard had played 'angry' on Monday night, with the former East Wagga-Kooringal and Wagga Tigers product venting his frustration quite clearly on a couple of occasions.
Howard said it was all part of the battle.
"I played on Tex a couple of times and he kicked a couple on me unfortunately. It was a bit fiery but that's footy, you've got to get involved and get angry at times," he said.
"Unfortunately I probably gave away 50 late but anyway."
