The rider of the motorbike crashed into the driver's side of a Suzuki Vitara on Travers Street around 1.20pm on Sunday.
Residents rushed from their houses to help the man, who lay on the ground surrounded by a group of people until paramedics arrived just before 1.40pm.
One resident told The Daily Advertiser the car had been pulled over soon before the collision.
They said the drivers of about six cars had stopped and and got out to help, as did the female driver of the Suzuki.
The man was lying on the ground "for at least ten minutes", while some passersby helped him and others diverted traffic around the crash.
Paramedics treated the man at the scene before helping him onto a stretcher and leaving with him on board.
Police remained at the scene, speaking to the driver of the car and witnesses, for some time after.
Another resident said he had left the house to get something from his car when he saw a group of people gathered around the rider.
His friend, a nurse visiting Wagga from Wollongong, went to help the man.
An ambulance spokesperson confirmed on Monday the man had been treated by paramedics for knee and wrist injuries and taken to Wagga Base Hospital for further care.
A hospital spokesperson said the man remained in hospital in a stable condition as at Monday afternoon.
A police spokesperson said the crash was minor and no charges had been laid.
