ClubsNSW said a person travelling through the NSW Far South Coast on July 6 visited a number of local businesses, including the Merimbula RSL Club for dinner.
"Merimbula RSL Club has elected to temporarily close while a deep clean is undertaken, and staff have been asked to get tested as a precaution," the spokesman said.
ClubsNSW CEO Josh Landis said all clubs have been operating under strict health protocols, and Merimbula RSL Club is following the club industry's CovidSAFE plan.
"Anyone who visits a NSW club is required to sign-in as a condition of entry, so the club has been able to assist the NSW health authorities with contact tracing by providing a digital copy of the names and contact numbers of every person who visited," said Mr Landis.
"Clubs have also gone above and beyond government requirements, including the temperature checking of staff before each shift, and the provision of dedicated CovidSAFE ambassadors to enforce social distancing," he added.
"Hand sanitiser has been available throughout the venues and regular intensive cleaning practices have been in place."
The spokesman said local NSW Police Officers recently visited and advised the club that that they were extremely happy with their compliance.
"Clubs are the safest venues for people to visit, however it's important that patrons adhere to all of the safety measures in place, and if you're unwell you should stay home," said Mr Landis.
Merimbula RSL Club continues to engage with NSW Health and will provide further updates when they become available," ClubsNSW said.
