Kangaroos have pulled off some big late moves as the start of the Group Nine season approaches.
Captain-coach Hayden Ashcroft will lead a new-look outfit into the clash with Brothers at Equex Centre on Saturday after swooping on three new players.
Hamish Starr has made the move over from Temora while Cootamundra recruits Jordan Coleman and Caleb Tohovaka will also play for Kangaroos in 2020.
Ashcroft played alongside Starr and Coleman for Riverina under 23s this season and believes they will be great additions to the club's back line.
"(Starr) was pretty handy when he played at Temora last year and he's fitted in pretty well at the club," Ashcroft said.
"He's another young one to add to our list. We have got a young side but we are pretty close now and pretty eager to get in and do well together.
"He fits every dynamic in our side."
Both came to the clubs primarily as fullbacks.
However Ashcroft is yet to finalise positions with both Starr and Coleman providing plenty of options across the back line.
"(Starr) can play anywhere across the back line and has been shifting around everywhere at the moment," he said.
"Whether it is centre or fullback I feel either way he will do a good job ... Jordan is a strong ball runner and I think fullback is his position but like Hamish he can cover anywhere in the back line and even a half role possibly.
"He's young and fit and a perfect fit for what we are looking for as a team."
Joining former Gundagai prop Matt Henery as new faces in the middle this season, Tohovaka also adds plenty of size to the forward pack.
Ashcroft believes it will be important to stack up to some of their rivals.
"Size is something we probably lack a little bit and he certainly adds a little there," he said. "It's something we've been looking for - a bit of size and a bit of grunt - and that's what he brings.
"Across the park I think we've got quality and we're all young and we're all fit."
Kangaroos held an intra-club trial on Saturday and Ashcroft believes there are plenty of positives to take from it for the season.
