The NSW and Victorian border closed on July 7 as COVID-19 cases continued to spike around Melbourne, spreading across the state.
With 55 road crossings to patrol, 500 police have been deployed to support the operation, as well as the government calling on 300 Army troops.
NSW Police released a statement saying that "police throughout the Riverina Police District, including Wagga Wagga, are supporting the current police operation on the border and will deploy as required".
Riverina Police District Commander Superintendent Bob Noble said their efforts were focused on keeping the community safe.
"Vital to the success of the operation is collaboration and the cooperation from the community," he said.
"So to that end, we want to ensure the community that their safety is our focus."

The operation will be a large, but necessary job, according to Superintendent Noble.
"There are four border crossings that are part of the Riverina district that we are making plans around now," he said.
"We continue to check the bonafides of travellers, and we do that as a matter of course anyway, in terms of just reducing fatigue and road trauma."
Superintendent Noble waved concerns of under staffing, assuring the community they were prepared.
"We're very good at taking our capacity and pushing it where it needs to be," he said.
"Our ability to do that was evidenced early this year when we had the bushfire events across the state - We had many, many, many dozens of police bumped into the Snowy Valleys to support policing and public safety operations there."
