More than $3000 worth of cigarettes, tobacco pouches and papers littered Henty's main street on Thursday morning after the town's supermarket was broken into in the early hours of the morning.

Police and residents had blocked off the street, to ensure the evidence strewn for about 100 metres remained undisturbed while detectives and crime scene police headed to the town.
Dale's IGA manager Narelle Morey said a Henty resident driving down Sladen Street at about 5.17am noticed the store's glass frontage was smashed.
She said it was upsetting as the people who broke in clearly had a plan and knew the shop.

"There's $3000 worth of cigarettes lying across the road," she said.
"Someone came with a crowbar and threw it through the window, they obviously had a plan but must have been disturbed, they didn't get much.
"They parked beside the bank which is why the stuff is all across the road."
Ms Morey said they were reviewing CCTV footage of the incident and police were investigating.
She said the people involved did not go further into the store and ignored wine and other items.
