Mr Dye was among hundreds of border residents to encounter delays of up to two hours on the Lincoln Causeway between Albury and Wodonga.
He left Howlong at 6.30am for his first job in Wodonga before joining the massive traffic snarl on his way to another job in Albury on Wednesday morning.
"It took me about an hour and a half," he said.
"Because I live in NSW I'm going to start to look at knocking back work in Victoria or prioritise certain days to certain areas.
"I knew there would be delays with people talking about up two hours wait.
"I did allow a bit of extra time to make sure it wasn't a drama this morning.
"I've just got to let all my clients know what is happening."
