NSW Health can confirm investigations are underway in the Murrumbidgee Local Health District after two suspected cases of COVID-19 returned positive results on preliminary testing.

The positive results were detected in the Albury Local Government Area, though it is not clear whether the residents are from Albury or Wodonga.
Further testing is underway while, as a precaution, close contacts have been identified and placed in isolation.
One Border resident who tested positive for COVID-19 had recently travelled to Melbourne and had returned prior to hotspot travel restrictions coming into force.
NSW Health urges residents in the Albury area who develop even the mildest symptoms to come forward for testing.
The Murrumbidgee Local Health District will be opening a pop-up clinic at Mirambeena Community Centre, 19 Martha Mews, Lavington from 9.30am on Tuesday to ensure additional testing capacity is available.
People can make an appointment via the Murrumbidgee COVID Hotline on 1800 831 099, or anyone experiencing symptoms can drop in.

Two people in the Albury-Wodonga region have returned a positive test for COVID-19, The Border Mail understands.
Murrumbidgee Local Health District, which is the authority overseeing reporting for the Border region, advised today there had been no new cases as at 8am on Monday.
The Border Mail understands the test results have been confirmed during the course of today, and contact tracing is being undertaken.
MLHD has been contacted for comment.
The Victorian Department of Health and Human Services report for July 6 confirms there is one active case in the Wodonga LGA.
The total number of coronavirus cases in Victoria is 2660, with 127 new cases reported yesterday.
Victoria attributes its cases to the LGA in which the person resides, not where the virus was acquired.
Wodonga has been included in the column designating active cases, of which there are 645 currently in the state.
The Border Mail is seeking to confirm the LGA relevant to the second person who has reportedly tested positive.
Tomorrow would have marked 100 days since the last COVID-19 case was confirmed in the Border region.
It comes as the NSW government announced it would close the state border between Albury and Wodonga.
