The library is offering take-home packs and activities that families can borrow, and share with one another online.
There are six science kits, on subjects ranging from the human body to astronomy.
Each kit comes with a laminated display of its contents, so customers can choose before borrowing without any health risk.
The library is also encouraging readers aged 9-12 to borrow and read The Little Wave by Pip Harry.
The Little Wave is a heartwarming story about three primary students who meet during a school excursion to Manly.
The library has several physical copies of this delightful Australian novel, and unlimited electronic copies are available through our eBook platform, indyreads.
Young readers of The Little Wave are invited to collect a Little Wave craft kit from the library, and to make a collage inspired by the book, or to write a short review.
Email us your review or collage photo at waggalibrary@gmail.com, and we will display your work on our website.
For more details, speak to library staff, or visit waggalibrary.com.au.
In accordance with the NSW Government's COVID-19 Safety Plan, while the Wagga library is still asking visitors to provide contact information, this is now voluntary.
We are no longer required to quarantine plastic-covered returned items, but we will be thoroughly disinfecting them before shelving, and we hope this means you find your favourite items sooner.
Lastly, from July 1, Wagga Wagga City Library is no longer charging overdue fines of any kind!
Libraries around the world are abolishing late fines, and we are delighted to join them.
If you have overdue items at home, bring them back without worry.
If you have been staying away because of outstanding overdue fines, those fines have been wiped, and we eagerly await your return.
