Morton will return home to his junior club after three seasons at Albury Tigers and a pre-season at Grovedale, where he had planned to play this year in the Geelong Football League.
Grills, 25, is a three-time premiership player at Albury and kicked 24 goals from 15 games last season as a midfielder-forward.
Grills was happy to join fellow Tigers Jake Gaynor, Braydon O'Hara and Shaun Driscoll at Robertson Oval.
"I know Jakey pretty well, we're pretty good mates and obviously Braydo and Shauny (Driscoll) that came over this year, I'm also pretty good mates with those boys so it was pretty easy. It's good to get a kick in," Grills said.
Grills will miss a couple of games with polocrosse commitments, a sport he is an Australian representative at.
Originally from Holbrook, Grills is looking forward to a taste of the Riverina League.
"It will be good to get over and have a look at the league," he said.
"I don't know much about it but I've heard Wagga is a good club, so it will be good to get over there and play at those boys' local club and help Jakey and Drisco out a bit and their club."
Morton's last game for Wagga Tigers was the 2016 premiership win.
"I'm rapt. Obviously with Dyl playing and a couple of other boys, I've come home and watched a few games every year and every time I do I get itchy feet," Morton said.
"There is a few hoops I had to jump through, given I could be in Geelong quite a bit of the year but every chance I get, I'd love to come back and play."
Morton, who is in Geelong on work placement, will be a week to week proposition. The 23-year-old hopes to play at least the minimum three games to qualify for finals.
"I'm happy to play as many as I can get to really," he said.
"If it ends up being half the season, so be it, if it ends up being three, it is what it is. It will really depend on how things are going on the border."
Morton will be a handy inclusion for Tigers, given his ability to play key position at either end of the ground.
Morton and Grills add to the likes of Braydon O'Hara, Jake Gaynor, Shaun Driscoll and Shaun Campbell that Tigers have added in the past week.
