Originally scheduled for October 17 and 18 this year at the Temora Aviation Museum, the event has plans of rescheduling to the autumn period next year, but a date is yet to be set.
Temora Aviation Museum's Peter Harper said the decision came as a result of the regulations in place to stop the spread of the coronavirus.
"We can only have up to 500 people under the new restrictions, which includes staff and volunteers as well, so unfortunately we have had to postpone," he said.
But it's not all bad news, with a downsized version of the event still to go ahead.
"We've kept the same dates but replaced Warbirds Downunder with our other platform event, Aircraft Showcase," Mr Harper said.
"It's essentially a mini Warbirds which we've been running for many years now, so there's a few less aircraft flying and naturally, smaller crowds."
Mr Harper said they were hopeful restrictions would ease further by October to make the most of both events.
Existing tickets will be automatically transferred to the new dates in 2021, however refunds can be arranged.
