Just a week after welcoming Riley Corbett back to the club, the Lions have also secured his teammate from Canberra Demons.

Martyn, 28, spent two years on Adelaide's rookie list and has since played the past four seasons with the Demons in the NEAFL.

The Merimbula junior was vice-captain of the Demons and one of their mainstays in defence and is expected to slot in across half-back for GGGM.

The Lions have also signed Henty forward Sam Terlich.

GGGM pursued both players in recent off-seasons and then the cancellation of their respective competitions paved the way for the pair to jump on board.

GGGM coach Christin Macri said Martyn is exactly the type of player they need.

"He's got a handy resume. He had some time as a rookie at Adelaide. We've been talking to him for a couple of years. We got close going back 12 months and then he decided to stay but with them being shutdown now he's looking for a game of footy," Macri said.

"He'll play off half-back for us. He's a running player, good sized and uses his voice really well. Perfect really for what we need. That's why we identified him as a player to chase after, we need that really experienced half-back flanker to sort things out."

Terlich will join Corbett in a new-look GGGM forward-line.

"He's a bigger-bodied player that can play as a marking forward. Someone else with a bit of size," he said.

"He was another one who we spoke to two years ago, he trained with us a few times and decided to stay but now was looking for a game."

Martyn averaged 20 disposals a game for the Demons last season, and also has experience in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL).

Martyn and Terlich join Corbett and Tom Quinn as recent additions to the Lions' squad for the shortened Riverina League season.

The two signings are the first in what is expected to be a competition-wide recruiting frenzy over the next three weeks leading into round one on July 18.
